The House of Nature in Salzburg (Austria) was founded in 1924 by the zoologist Prof. Eduard Paul Tratz (1888 - 1977), who was the director of the house until 1976.

In more than 80 show rooms exhibitions on various fields of the animated and inanimate nature, amongst others also an aquarium with more than forty show basins are offered for the visitors.

The House of Nature is also the setting of several scientific study groups: entomology, herpetology, ornithology, mineralogy and palaeontology, botany, astronomy.

Parts of the visitor magnets are also a mobile Allosaurus simulation, the space hall, the national observatory, as well as an ice age show.
